Tax CPAs, are the unsung heroes of deadlines, but in Florida, it feels like tax season never ends. Florida CPAs have taken Embrace the Grind to a new level with all the filing extensions in the last number of years. 🔚

Since 2018, extensions from hurricanes and COVID-19 have kept Florida CPAs in overdrive. Let’s recap: Hurricane Michael (2018) pushed October deadlines to February 28, 2019; COVID moved 2019 filings to July 15, 2020, and 2020 to May 17, 2021; Hurricane Idalia (2023) stretched October deadlines to February 15, 2024; and Hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton (2024) set Florida’s 2024 deadline to May 1, 2025. That’s quite a flex when it comes to filing deadlines. 💪🏻

The exhaustion can hit hard—long hours, complex filings, and client pressures stack up, especially with disaster relief claims adding weight. It’s a marathon that most endure quietly, but as they persist, many wonder if their firm truly supports their efforts. The perspective here is empathetic: CPAs (like everyone) deserve a workplace that has a good culture & technical fit along with fair market pay. After a series of intense filing seasons, now is a good time to reflect. 🤔

Will you be considering a new team offering a better cultural or technical fit? Or have recent pay increases lagged due to the corrections in 2020/21? Your technical expertise is your stock in trade; find a team that sees it. Considering a new firm post-season? Drop me a note. #FloridaCPAs #TaxSeason2025 #CPACareers #HiringTrends #CareerFit
